Charlestown crowned a fine season by defeating Fahy Rovers 3-2 to win Division 2 of the Under 16 League. Charlestown were undefeated in the League for the season.

Mayo were Kennedy Bowl Winners at the Kennedy Cup on Friday in Limerick. The Westerners defeated Carlow in a tense final to win their most prestigious trophy to date in the competition and it turned out to be a famous week as the boys put on an exhibition of football and a squad member getting individual recognition.Mayo began the tournament in Group 1 with a tie against Clare and they were in great form throughout the game. Westport United retained the Helen Johnson trophy making it three under 18 titles in a row.
In a evenly ballanced first half Westport pounced on a defencive error to take the lead.Colm Higgins made no mistake with only the keeper to beat.
Colm Higgins struck again in the 63rd minute to put the tie beyond Castlebar Celtic.

The Under 12 Division 4B three way play off between Castlebar Celtic, Manulla and Kiltimagh / Knock United failed to find a winner after the three game all finished with the home teams winning on each occasion. The three teams must meet again to try to decide a winner.

Six teams took part in the inaugural under 10 girls blitz last Saturday in Milebush. A fun day was had by all. Teams that took part were Castlebar Celtic Girls, Manulla, Killala, Ballina Town, Claremorris and Castlebar Celtic.

Mayo took on Dundalk in the final of the George Best Community Cup in The Oval, Belfast, this afternoon. The first half saw mostly half chances with Dundalk hitting free kicks over the bar and Mayo putting the Oriel keeper under pressure with crosses piled in on top of him and had to make a good save from James O'Donnell. It was an important day for Mayo today as they bid to progress to the final of the George Best Community Cup. They started off against Bohemians in Short's ground and from the outset, they were up against better opposition.
